Apply To Fly

Guardian Application

The mission and privilege of North Bay Honor Flight is to transport veterans to Washington, D.C. to see their memorial and receive the appreciation and honor they deserve.
All Honor Flight veterans are accompanied by a Guardian who is essential to the success of the veteran's Tour of Honor. Guardians physically assist the veterans prior to flight, during flight, during the visit to the memorials, and during the journey home. A Guardian must be 18+ years of age, cannot be a spouse/significant other, and must have a Guardian application on file. Guardians may request to fly with a specific veteran (e.g., a veteran family member (not a spouse)) or to be linked with the next available veteran on the next available flight.

Because each Guardian plays such a significant role in the success of the Honor Tour, you are required to attend a mandatory training session prior to travel to ensure the safety, comfort, and opsec of your veteran and of the mission. Guardians are required to pay their own trip expenses ($1,800 total which covers airfare, meals, two nights billeting in Washington, D.C., entrance fees to memorials, and more).

Once you have been confirmed on a flight, you will be notified how and when to make a payment and the due date.
